John Poore BEM (Year Elected - 2006)

Although never having held office or a committee position within the League, John’s support over the years was and has been invaluable.  He never won the Middlesex County Cricket League but played in two Middlesex Cup winning sides – both of them before the League actually started – and the National Club Final at Lord’s against Blackheath.

He had a long and varied career at the Club Cricket Conference touring the West Indies in 1977 and serving for many years on the Council (subsequently the Board) culminating in his being appointed President in 2011.

As well as captaining Ealing in 1978-80 and 1984-6 John was appointed President in 1996, a position he held until this year when he stood down to be replaced by another League Vice President, Bob Fisher.
