Ray Wallis (Year Elected - 2003) - Deceased

Ray umpired in the MCCL for over 30 years having been a founder member of the League Panel; his umpiring ‘life’ beginning at his home club Hayes where his son Keith was a fine layer.  He moved to Ealing CC and became a Full Member of ACU&S in 1974.

Ray moved through the ranks to become a member of the Middlesex CCC 2nd XI Umpires’ Panel where he remained for some 10 years before a heart attack caused him to stand down.  Notwithstanding this, he continued to umpire on the League Panel until further bouts of ill health caused him finally to retire but even then he was not finished: he assisted the administration of the Panel by observing the ‘new boys’ and reporting back.
