Don Shelley (Year Elected - 2003)

Don Shelley's importance to the success of the MCCL over the years is impossible to overstate.  For almost 50 years he diligently operated as both league fixture secretary and league results officer, operating when communication was by carrier pigeon, Post, Fax, and finally email.  He collated league results and produced league tables in both pre- and post computer eras.

When the league reached it's 50th year, Don almost singled handily, produced a 284 opus celebrating the event.

As a non-cricketer since his school days, Don has probably scored more MCCL games than almost any other scorer, being Ealing's 1st XI scorer for over 30 years before ascending to the role of Middlesex County's 1st XI professional scorer.  A mark of how highly he is regarded in the professional game is marked by the fact he has scored several home test matches for England.
