Alan Price (2003)

Alan Price was a member of the League Committee for a record 28 years until Lynne Johns came into the committee room at 1.30 am taking breakfast orders; at that point Alan felt it was time to move on!

A prodigious all-rounder, he scored over 37,000 runs and took more than 3,500 wickets for Ealing, playing in all the XIs throughout his career. Another member of the Ealing side which reached the National Final in 1971, he created a record by reaching a second one against Chorley in 1994 a gap of 23 years. Sadly he was on the losing side in that one as well.

He also played in the Middlesex CCL side which won the prestigious CCC Inter-League Trophy in 1978.

A former member of the Club Cricket Conference Council, Alan toured Australia with them in 1975: a time he will always remember after being caught and bowled off his front teeth by future Australia Manager, Steve Bernard - one of the fastest bowlers in the world!
